I am really happy to see how this came out. It was very interesting to paint in the dark and then take the painting out and see how different it looks. I would never have painted anything this bright if I could actually see what I was painting because I have a tendency to try to use the exact colors of the still life that I'm looking at and to make the objects look very realistic. I like that the fruit looks too perfect almost like it's fake. This painting could even have a meaning, it could be criticizing the amount of fertilizers and genes that are used on fruit when it's growing so that it looks extremely bright and perfect. But in reality the fruit ends up looking fake, plasticky and not tasting very good.
